Make space before collecting pearls

Weapons fire automatically, so your first responsibility is positioning. Move through open water and look for where the next gap will be, rather than steering only toward the nearest pearl. A small loop can bring you back to experience after the enemies have moved; a dead end can cost more health than that experience is worth.

When a wave starts closing around you, choose a gap before the circle is complete. This is a suggested movement approach, not a guarantee for every map or build. If the route disappears, change direction early instead of forcing the same loop.

Choose a card for the problem on screen

Pearls give experience, and an upgrade selection offers cards during a run. Read the card rather than treating every damage increase as interchangeable. Ask whether the immediate problem is surviving contact, reaching safe experience or getting enough effective damage on a threatening enemy.

A practical first-run experiment is to keep one intended weapon direction and use the other choices to cover a clear weakness. Changing the entire plan at every selection makes it harder to tell which upgrade helped. Permanent lobby purchases and temporary in-run cards are separate decisions.

Read the warning shape

Boss warnings communicate an area or line to leave. The guide distinguishes a dash line, an aimed shot, a ring, a fan and tracking or lock-on indicators. Side-stepping a line and leaving a broad circular area are different movements. React to the marked geometry before the hit arrives.

A tide countdown warns of a water wall arriving from one side. Check the map and direction shown by the game; do not assume every map sends the tide from the same edge. Move away from the incoming wall without steering into a pocket of enemies.

Use the result to choose the next attempt

A clear requires defeating the final boss. Reaching a late wave is useful progress, but it is not the same result. After a loss, decide whether the limiting factor was positioning, a missed warning or the build’s effectiveness. Pick one thing to change on the next run.

Local tactical recaps and server-verified leaderboard results are different records. A useful local replay can help explain a decision without making that run a ranked score. Consult the in-game Guide and What’s new pages for the rules available in your current build.
