Include the return before leaving camp

The commission is a rescue and return, not merely a route to the stranded teammate. Inspect anchors, rope and the next stance cost while planning the outbound route. Reserve resources for carrying the teammate back to camp.

A tempting shortcut outward may leave a poor return. Compare the whole trip before adding a long sequence of steps. The information shown for an anchor should guide the next decision rather than serving as decoration after the route is already chosen.

Use rehearsal to find the first problem

Rehearsal lets you investigate the plan without writing a real commission result. If it stops at a blocked span, inspect that location. Keep the legal part of the route and make a local repair instead of throwing away every earlier decision.

Check whether the problem is the next footing, a resource cost or the route itself. A changed camera view does not change the underlying requirement. After revising the plan, rehearse the affected section again before actual execution.

Watch the execution state

During actual execution, the teammate can be waiting, being carried or safe at camp. These states describe different progress. Reaching the rescue point does not deliver the commission, and carrying the teammate is not the same as having returned.

Inspect the next stance cost as you move. If execution fails at a span, use the retained legal route and the displayed failure to decide what needs repair. Do not treat an earlier rehearsal success as a recorded delivery.

Compare completed attempts honestly

Complete the actual return to camp before judging the rescue result. The two commissions keep their own results, so compare attempts within the same job rather than borrowing a favourable number from another commission.

For a useful retry, choose one route or resource decision to change. Note whether it improves the blocked span and still leaves the return feasible. A faster outbound trip is only valuable if the team can finish the full journey.

Two rescue commissions with planning, rehearsal and actual execution. A rehearsal result is not a recorded rescue delivery.
